Responsibilities
As front-line analyst for manufacturer and seller of costumes, costume accessories, pet costumes and toys, employs principles of statistical analysis, industry data, and internally generated data from customer feedback and other relevant criteria, to ascertain safety of materials and safety of physical characteristics of children’s costumes, accessories and toys. Perform statistical power calculations, sample-size determinations, and randomization planning. Conduct regression and multivariate analyses. Develop and maintain databases of testing results, safety incidents and prepare technical reports for regulatory submissions and internal reviews. Work with Quality Assurance team and testing lab to identify critical areas of potential health and hazardous safety risk and bring them to the attention of management. Based on safety data, testing lab’s recommendation and Federal and State laws, assist management in age-rating of children costumes, accessories and toys to ensure children’s safety, and appropriateness of use. May suggest inspection and testing protocols to ensure consistent quality and absence of potentially dangerous defects.
Requirements
Master’s degree in public health, Statistics (alternative major) or closely related
1 year of experience in Job Offered as Statistical Analyst, or Health & Safety Analyst as alternate occupation
